About this place
Sōki, rafute or both? At Ucafe, the choice of topping is part of the appeal of Obā no Soba. The bone-in sōki costs 600 yen, the braised-pork rafute costs 700 yen, and the “2-topping” option with both costs 800 yen. Diners who chose both enjoyed comparing the substantial meatiness of the sōki with the rafute’s rich flavour in one bowl. Another visitor described the soba as simply flavoured, and said they enjoyed changing it up with pickled ginger and pepper.
For something other than a meat-topped bowl, there is tori soba, topped with shredded chicken ham, green onion and kamaboko. The menu describes the chicken ham’s saltiness as a pleasant accent to the soup, making for a lighter-tasting bowl. For a snack, there is a braised-pork sandwich and a Vietnamese-style sandwich with green shiso, cheese and pickled onion; both cost 500 yen.
Finish with a coffee. One diner praised the flannel-drip coffee, while the “Fukkō Coffee,” roasted in Naraha, Fukushima Prefecture, is described as fruity.
